今天的行程十分簡單, 從新潟向北走去到一個叫村上的地方, 然後折返新潟乘搭新幹線返回東京. 我們起床從窗向外看, 看見一片田原, 想不到在距離市中心不遠的地方便看見農田. 我們在房間內吃完早餐後, 便離開酒店, 乘搭巴士往JR新潟站, 在車站放下行李在儲物櫃, 之後便走到車站外尋找接駁巴士. 從新潟往村上, 只須乘坐搭JR白新線和JR羽越本線, 途中不用轉車, 但是因為新潟站的路線重組工程, 我們先在JR新潟站乘坐接駁巴士住JR東新潟站, 才開始火車旅程. 在JR新潟站外的巴士站裡有很多JR職員在指引乘客和安排巴士入站, 因為今天是星期日, 乘客不多, 而且是早上時間, 巴士的數目還要比乘客多, 登上巴士後不久便開車出發. 離開JR村上站我們先拜訪遊客中心, 搜尋一些有用的旅遊資訊, 車站和遊客中心都在天花上吊著風乾三文魚, 未走入鎮中心, 已經感受到三文魚和村上是唇齒相依.
